Components for the .NET Framework

The VistaDB ADO.NET Data Provider can be used by Visual C#, VB.NET, Delphi.NET and any other CLR compliant language that supports ADO.NET 2.0. The VistaDB assembly includes built-in ADO.NET Data Providers for the corresponding .NET platform that feature the following components:

  • ADO.NET Data Provider (.Net 2.0 SP1 or higher)
    • VistaDBCommand
    • VistaDBCommandBuilder
    • VistaDBConnection
    • VistaDBDataAdapter
    • VistaDBDataReader
    • VistaDBParameter
    • VistaDBProviderFactory

  • ADO.NET Entity Framework (.Net 3.5 SP1 and .Net 4.0 )
    • Extended properties and methods for Entity Framework interface support

  • Diagnostic

  • Direct Data Access (DDA) Objects (.Net 2.0 SP1 or higher)
    • Over 30 built-in DDA classes that allow direct data access to data

The VistaDB ADO.NET Data Provider components are designed to integrate natively with ADO.NET which lets you use VistaDB in a standard and familiar way using your favorite.NET language and .NET development.

VistaDB allows your data to be fully integrated with all of .NET's databound controls for WinForms and ASP.NET pages.

.NET Runtime Versions

VistaDB supports .NET 2.0 SP1 and Higher.  There are two versions of most assemblies - one targeting .NET 2.0 and the other targeting .NET 4.0.  If using .NET 4.0 or higher it's recommended that you use the .NET 4.0 versions of the assemblies, but it isn't required because the .NET engine can load any assembly built against .NET 2.0 or higher into a runtime with a higher version.
